Model One from Tivoli is highly praised by specialized magazines for its contemporaneous technique and listening pleasure. Published in more than 60 magazines and journals like for example Audio, Stereo, FAZ and Rolling Stones coming to the same result: finally a radio with receiving and tone quality that does furthermore look great. The legendary American sound guru Henry Kloss that is also a member of the Audio Hall of Fame, designed the Model One table radio. His radio KLH Model 8 of the early 60s is famous, in its time it had a similar embossing effect on the Americans like the Braun Snow-white’s coffins for the German. Regarding its technique, Model One is a radio receiver, but one of the finest.
Instead of a colourful display, Model One delights by a large adjusting button whose selectivity of 5:1 is reached by its discrete construction and most modern electronic-components of the mobile-wireless area. This design is the conscious reduction to the essential ? there is no need for more to listen! Connections for CD-players, listeners and Tape-outputs ensure the connection to the outside world.
Moreover Model One possesses a 12V-connection; this means that it can, for example be used in campers or on boats. But extremely amazing it becomes when it is enabled and the sonorous sound of the totally new developed radio fills the room. One would never expect that this small thing could sound like this, despite its high quality 3-toll broadband loudspeaker and the reflection opening on the lower part! Henry Kloss inserted his complete experience in here and said: “it took me more than 40 years to develop a new radio!” He succeeded! Pure function instead of multifunctional frills. More than only cult, a real piece of culture. The question that arises here is not if one needs it, but how many and in which colour.
